This Asian artifact is a beige jade square-shaped nude figure with a dragon/lion-like creature to the head with the phallus visible. It is made of a hard, tough and highly colored stone. Jade is widely used for fine carvings and jewelry. The mineral is translucent to opaque and comes in a wide range of colors including dark green, white, yellow, grey, red, black and beige. This piece is dated from 1300's AD and its dimensions are 7.5" x 3".
Asia is an extremely complex mosaic of intertwined cultures – some going back into the mists of time.
