White Marble Buddha, his oval face with a contemplative expression, delicately arched eyebrows, elongated earlobes, heavy-lidded almond-shaped eyes downcast in meditation, small bow-shaped mouth recessed at the corners, the hair in rows of small circular-shaped curls surmounted by a domed usnisa. Mounted on a base. This piece is dated from 200-400 AD and its dimensions are 10" x 6".
Asia is an extremely complex mosaic of intertwined cultures – some going back into the mists of time.
