My first encounter with photography was in 1977 when I went to the Fox-Talbot Museum of Photography in England and picked up a book of Wynn Bullock’s photographs. I was mesmerized, not just by the photography but also the locations. Later, I saw more amazing photographs by Ansel Adams, especially his 1958 photograph “Aspens, N. New Mexico .” I knew I wanted to humbly attempt to follow in their footsteps.
I knew I had to change my way of thinking so that I could see and appreciate the natural beauty in everything around me. In the last five years as a photographer, that is what I have been attempting to do; starting close at hand with the things that surround me: Flowers, trees and landscapes.
