Heed Handicrafts, Bangladesh
HEED (Health, Education & Economic Development) Handicrafts is a National, non-profit voluntary organization, registered with the Government of Bangladesh since October 1975. HEED started cottage industries and handicraft programs in 1977, named "HEED Handicrafts", aiming to create more jobs & employment for marginalized men and women who are capable of producing various craft products based on local resources. HEED Handicrafts now operates as a separate unit under the general oversight and guidance of HEED Bangladesh. HEED Handicrafts has trained many hundreds of men, women, boys and girls in various handicraft skills including hand knit woolen carpet making, hand carved wooden ware, tapestry, monipuri work, tailoring, cotton crochet, and other handicraft products.
